Description
Original oil painted portrait of Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman) from Star Wars. Painted using Holbein Oil Paint on a canvas sheet mounted to wooden hardboard. The back of the board is inscribed "Apprentice Leia Mixing Palette" and dated 14Dec2014.
I was one of the Lucasfilm artists selected to create original art for Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. For my piece I created the piece "Apprentice Leia" in oils. As part of my process, I use a canvas sheet mounted to wooden hardboard to mix my colors. When I retire a mixing palette, I write the date and the name of the painting it was used to create on the back. After its dried several months, I will use the random colors as part of a portrait. This portrait was painted using one of those mixing palettes.
